For the 1 in 8 Kiwi children living with asthma, a clean indoor environment is crucial¹.

The air they breathe within the confines of their homes can be a game-changer, influencing the severity of their symptoms and impacting their overall wellbeing.

The Asthma and Respiratory Foundation NZ want to help create healthy homes for all New Zealanders – a vision that Dyson also shares.

Recently Dyson launched two new purifiers in New Zealand, Dyson Purifier Hot+CoolTM Gen 1 and Dyson Purifier CoolTM Gen 1. Equipped with Dyson’s core filtration and airflow technology for high-quality, even purification, they serve as versatile air purifiers for any room, which sense, capture and project – which is how Dyson believes a good purifier should function.

Dyson air purifiers are designed to create a healthier living environment by removing airborne particles, including allergens, dust, and pollutants from the home. Dyson purifiers capture 99.95% of particles down to 0.1 microns2, including pollen, dust and mould, as well as gases3 such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and NO₂, helping to create a cleaner and more comfortable indoor environment year-round. The whole machine is sealed to HEPA H13 grade filtration4, so what goes inside, stays inside, preventing dirty air from bypassing the filters or escaping from gaps in the machine and carrying pollutants back into the room.

Dyson Engineer James Shale says: “Particulate pollution can be made up of allergens such as pollen, pet dander and dust, which can become airborne and travel throughout your indoor spaces. The integrated sensors in our purifiers constantly analyse the air quality, automatically detecting ultrafine pollutants, capturing them with whole-machine HEPA filter to ensure what goes inside stays inside, then projecting clean air around the whole room. This helps to create a healthier and more comfortable indoor environment.”

Foundation Chief Executive Ms Letitia Harding thanked Dyson for their ongoing support for respiratory wellbeing in our country.

“Asthma sufferers often face challenges related to indoor air quality, as common triggers can worsen their symptoms. It’s partners, like Dyson, who help us make a real difference to the lives of Kiwis.”

Dyson is a Gold sponsor of the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation ‘Friends of the Foundation’ programme and a key supporter of the Foundation’s work in improving respiratory health outcomes for New Zealanders.
