The Foundation's vision is to 'be the leaders in respiratory health knowledge to improve respiratory health outcomes for all' by developing and supporting respiratory health best practice through Research, Education and Advocacy. The Foundation's key events, campaigns and publications all support our vision.
The Foundation produces the 'Impact of Respiratory Disease in NZ' report, the best practice guidelines for the diagnosis and management of asthma and COPD in NZ, and compiles the latest research and findings in the respiratory space into our research portal.
The Foundation has developed asthma education toolkits for both parents and teachers, runs an asthma in schools education programme (Sailor the Pufferfish show), and hosts a vaping education website (Don't Get Sucked In).
The Foundation hosts the biennial New Zealand Respiratory Conference - the country's leading event for health professionals in the respiratory space, and the NZ Respiratory Achievers Awards to acknowledge the success of those who overcome the challenge of a respiratory condition, as well as those who support these people.
The Foundation runs three major awareness campaigns each year to raise awareness about respiratory disease in New Zealand. The campaigns focus on asthma and COPD - two of New Zealand's most prevalent respiratory diseases.
'Better Breathing' magazine is the Foundation's quarterly magazine containing latest news and interesting articles, stories and research about respiratory conditions - it is published and distributed in both hardcopy and online. Our Annual Report showcases our key initiatives and projects over the past year.
