Open your heart and leave a lasting gift for people with respiratory conditions…

At the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation NZ, we receive no Government funding and rely heavily on donations and the gifts left to us in wills to fund our advocacy, education and research.

We are endlessly grateful and humbled by the generosity of those who chose to leave a gift in their will to us – it ensures we are able to provide ongoing support to our respiratory community for years to come and contributes to our goal of reducing hospital admissions caused by asthma and other respiratory conditions, which affects 1 in 7 Kiwis.

Respiratory conditions are the leading cause of unplanned hospital admissions for children under five and every year asthma causes the death of over 100 New Zealanders and over 250,000 people globally.

One of those people was Dr Brent Wilson, who was just 48 years old when he passed away from a severe asthma attack. His legacy lives on through the generosity of his wife, Anna, who gives regularly to the Foundation in aid of our work.

Imagine you could commemorate your loved one with a bequest to Asthma and Respiratory Foundation NZ.

Brentwilson

I, Anna Wilson, was prompted to leave a legacy for asthma after my husband, Dr. Brent Wilson, the finest person I have ever met, whose life I had the greatest good fortune to share, died tragically from a severe asthma attack in 1989 at the age of 48 years. All my warmest wishes go towards finding a way of dealing with this condition successfully.

Support, like Anna’s, helps ensure we reduce these terrible statistics in the future.
