In this resource

Now available in Samoan, the Managing your Child's Asthma handbook is an essential resource for parents of children with asthma.

Content includes:

  • How to identify asthma triggers
  • How to use different asthma medications
  • How to care for a spacer
  • What to do in an asthma emergency

Asthma is a common New Zealand illness, but it’s scary for parents when it affects their child. It’s not unusual for parents to find it difficult to take in information, or leave the doctor’s office feeling overwhelmed and wishing they had asked more questions.   Because everyone learns in different ways, we have produced the resource as a printed booklet and an online learning tool that includes narrations.

You can also access the online learning tool paired with this resource for free here: https://learnaboutlungs.org.nz
