Now available in Samoan, the Managing your Child's Asthma handbook is an essential resource for parents of children with asthma.
Asthma is a common New Zealand illness, but it’s scary for parents when it affects their child. It’s not unusual for parents to find it difficult to take in information, or leave the doctor’s office feeling overwhelmed and wishing they had asked more questions. Because everyone learns in different ways, we have produced the resource as a printed booklet and an online learning tool that includes narrations.
You can also access the online learning tool paired with this resource for free here: https://learnaboutlungs.org.nz
The “Managing your child’s asthma” resource teaches parents/whānau about asthma including how to help prevent an asthma attack. Also available in English, te reo Māori, and Samoan.
This resource is a symptom diary for doctors to give to their child patients and their parents/caregivers, and is used in conjunction with the Child Asthma Plan. Available in English, te reo Māori, Samoan, and Tongan
