Leading New Zealand home ventilation provider DVS is upping its commitment to Kiwis with respiratory conditions by signing on as a Gold Sponsor of the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation NZ (ARFNZ).
Foundation Chief Executive Letitia Harding says her organization is thrilled to welcome DVS Home Ventilation as the newest partner in ARFNZ’s Friends of the Foundation programme. “We are delighted to partner with such a well-loved New Zealand brand that has a proven track record of caring about the respiratory health of Kiwis,” she says.
As a provider of home ventilation solutions, the DVS team have seen firsthand how damp, cold homes and poor air quality can impact New Zealanders’ respiratory health. “As a company, our passion has always been to create healthier homes for Kiwis. We firmly believe that dry and warm homes are essential for promoting better health, especially for the thousands of New Zealanders living with respiratory conditions,” says DVS Managing Director Tony Sandes.
With shared values, a partnership between the Foundation and DVS was a natural fit explains Ms Harding. “We seek like-minded organisations to join us on our mission to improve the respiratory health of New Zealanders. As we receive no Government funding, we are reliant on generous Kiwis like the team at DVS Home Ventilation to be able to carry out our vital work in research, advocacy, and education.”
Respiratory conditions continue to be a leading cause of sickness and hospitalisation for New Zealanders, and they are the third most common cause of death for Kiwis. These conditions also affect the daily quality of life for many new Zealanders. “We know that people miss work and school and are often unable to do the things they love like sport or socialising because of their condition,” explains Ms Harding. “But it doesn’t need to be this way. There are many things we can do to improve the lives of people living with conditions like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Improving the health of our homes, is one factor that can make a significant difference.”
